A Horribly Haunted Hoarder House

Dab smack in the middle of the eastern Canadian prairie is a tiny town called Somerset, Manitoba.

hoar3

Somerset is sleepy little place where nothing much eventful ever happens. Farmers, mechanics and a few office workers going about their business. The main recreation in the place is gossiping about neighbors and talking about the latest casualty of old age. The towns population is overflowing with senior citizens. The only growth industry in town is the Old Folks retirement home.

Eventually the gossip began to speculate that there was a hoarder in town. Now this was interesting, the story really revved up the usually mundane restaurant chatter.  As with all gossip, the facts are usually exaggerated and embellished. The chit chatters usually don’t care if the facts are unknown, they just like the story. But this time it was different.

The hoarder himself admitted that he was one.  Constantijn Vanderrassle admitted to the local bartender that he had in fact been hoarding since the early 1990’s. It started after he retired from the railroad. He loved the things he bought from thrift stores, auctions and the picks he went on. And for the life of him he just couldn’t get rid of any of the stuff.

After repeated requests Constantijn allowed the bartender Cletus LaFlesche to take a look. Cletus brought along his super dependable cannon XZ-500 digital camera and promptly snapped a picture of the living room.

Ignore the date in the bottom right corner, Cletus never did figure out how to set the clock on his camera. Since Constantijn was 92 years old Cletus wondered what in the hell he was doing with a little red wagon. Top left.

A few weeks after the visit something was bugging Constantijn that was causing him to drink more heavily than usual. He finally confided to Cletus that the damn house was haunted. He was seeing all kinds of weird entities. These phantoms, demons or whatever the hell they were, would throw the clustered hoarded things around in the middle of the night. Constantijn just couldn’t get any sleep.

One night, after the two buddies had drank many sambuca shooters and draft beers, they would go head first into the evil cauldron and Cletus would snap some pictures. The things in the pictures made the hair on Cletus’s neck stand on end. It was something out of a horror movie nightmare. Entities from hell!!

Imagine waking up in the middle of the night to go for a leak and stumbling into this monstrosity.  A guy could shit his pants!

From which hell pit did this quad eyed hideous mutation crawl up from? God help us all!!

And Constantijn did just that, he hired a servant of God to rid the house of the demon trolls.

Constantijn promised Cletus that if the Exorcist is successful, he will bring in the A&E hoarder psychiatrists and movers and get rid of all his stuff once and for all.

Winnipeg Paranormal Activity

T.G. Hamilton was one of Winnipeg’s stranger characters to say the least.  He held many seances in his Henderson Hwy home.  It is near Hespeler.  Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle made a visit to the house in the early part of the century.

Below are some pictures taken at the house of ectoplasm.  To me it looks like early photo-shop.

Thomas Glendenning Hamilton (November 27, 1873 – April 7, 1935) was a Canadian doctor, school board trustee and member of the Manitoba legislature. He is best known however for the thousands of photographs he took during séances held in his home in Winnipeg in the early 1900s. His wife, Lillian May Hamilton, and his daughter, Margaret Hamilton Bach, were co-researchers and continued this enquiry into life after death after he died.

Ectoplasm  is a term coined by Charles Richet to denote a substance or spiritual energy “exteriorized” by physical mediums.  Ectoplasm is said to be associated with the formation of ghosts, and asserted to be an enabling factor in psychokinesis.

At first T.G. and Lillian’s investigations into the paranormal were held in secret. But T.G. went public in 1926, delivering a lecture on his research on telekinesis to the Winnipeg Medical Society. From that time until his death, Hamilton delivered eighty-six lectures and wrote numerous articles published in Canada and abroad. His fame spread and the Hamilton family’s work became known in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. Canadian Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King and Americans Mina Crandon, the medium known as “Margery,” and her husband L.R.G. Crandon, all travelled to Winnipeg to participate in the Hamiltons’ séances. Among those who worked with Dr Hamilton were Ada Turner and her adopted son Harold Turner. Harold or “Norman” as he is called in the Hamilton records was interviewed by Norman James Williamson about his experience with the Hamilton group in 1982. When Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes series, came to Winnipeg as part of a cross North American tour in 1923, he attended one of the Hamiltons’ home circles. Even after his death, the Hamiltons tried to contact Conan Doyle by mediumship. In 1935, T.G. Hamilton died suddenly of a heart attack. His wife Lillian and his daughter Margaret continued his work. Lillian and her son James Drummond produced a summary of T.G.’s work in the book Intention and Survival, published in 1942. When Lillian died in 1956, her daughter Margaret carried on. She wrote a series of articles in 1957 for Psychic News in England. These thirteen articles were collected in a booklet and also circulated to daily papers throughout Canada. Margaret later produced a second edition of Intention and Survival in 1977; a third edition came out in 1980.

Is Bigfoot Possibly an Alien Entity?

Are Sasquatches related to Wookies? The possibilities are mind-boggling.

biggie

Sasquatch having a crap at left, Wookie relaxing after a crap at right.

Rather than being a missing link between man and the apes, Bigfoot may possibly be an alien entity. This intriguing possibility is derived from evidence in several solid UFO cases.

The earliest clues date back to 1888, when a cattleman described an encounter with friendly Indians in Humboldt County, California. They led him to a cave where he saw a hefty humanoid creature covered in long, shiny black hair, with no neck, sitting cross-legged.

One Indian told him three of these “Crazy Bears” had been cast out of a small moon that dropped from the sky and landed. The “moon” then ascended back into the air. So it’s highly likely the “Crazy Bears” were really Bigfoots, and the “moon,” a spacecraft.

Now fast-forward almost 100 years to 1973… and Mrs. Reafa Heitfield. She and her 13-year-old son were sleeping in a trailer in Cincinnati, Ohio on the morning of October 21. Reafa arose at 2:30 a.m. to quench her thirst, and noticed strange lights in the adjoining parking lot. Looking out the window, her attention was drawn, in particular, to an inexplicable cone of light, shaped like a huge bubble umbrella — about seven feet in diameter.

Nearby she spotted a grayish, ape-like creature with a large, downward angled snout, no neck and a sizable waist. Moving slowly, it then entered into the light. About five minutes later, both apeman and UFO disappeared.

Another dramatic incident occurred a few days later on October 25, 1973. A group of farmers in Fayette County, Pennsylvania caught sight of a dome-shaped UFO that was brightly lit and about 100 feet in diameter. As the locals drove toward it, they saw a pair of gargantuan creatures covered with thick, matted hair, luminescent green eyes and long arms that dangled below their knees.

biggie3

A farmer’s son fired a gun shot at the creatures, one of which raised its right hand in the air. At that very moment, the UFO disappeared. Then, the two Bigfoots escaped into the woods and were never seen again.

Dairy farmer William Bosak of Frederic, Wisconsin was returning from a co-op meeting about 10:30 p.m. on December 9, 1974, when he nearly slammed into a globular UFO on the road in front of him, its bottom half enshrouded in fog.

Inside the visible transparent dome was a six-foot-tall ape-like creature with reddish-brown fur covering its body (except for the face) and distinctive pointed ears. It appeared to be operating a control panel. As Bosak passed by, the object suddenly arose and disappeared.

In August,1976, after a series of UFO sightings around Rutland, British Columbia, Canada, several men and their children saw a hairy ape-like entity, six to seven feet tall roaming about a mountainside. They also found a clump of hair that was sent to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for identification. Laboratory analysis confirmed it was primate hair, but, significantly, it could not be matched to any known species on earth!

Perhaps the Bigfoot creatures are UFO pilots, landing on earth for exploratory purposes. Or, conceivably, higher level ETs are leaving behind some specimens as “guinea pigs” to test our environment for long-term survival. Or, possibly, these Bigfoots are criminal entities being deposited on Earth as a form of cosmic deportation!

The Uncanny Rise of the Haunted Doll Market

Buying or selling a haunted doll is not mere child's play.

Is this the world’s most elaborate dollhouse?PauseNext video0:15 / 1:51VoltaxFull-screen

There’s something unsettling about dolls. Even before Chucky and Annabelle made them part of the Hollywood horror canon, their glassy, unseeing stares and too-symmetrical features, locked in an unshifting perma-pout, were plenty unnerving.

But not all dolls are created equal: Some are kinda creepy, some are hella creepy, and some are haunted. Or at least, they’re said to be.

THE RISE OF THE HAUNTED DOLL MARKET
There’s a thriving online market for haunted dolls, a relatively recent phenomenon thought to have taken off in the last decade and largely based around Etsy, eBay, and Instagram. A quick online search reveals thousands for sale (along with accessories and dolls intended to be scary, but not purported to be haunted). Most prices hover around $150, though some haunted dolls sell for over $1000.

A typical listing will include a lengthy, detailed backstory both about how the doll was acquired—often ending up with the seller after changing hands multiple times after spooking owner after owner—and what has supposedly been gleaned about the spirits inhabiting them. Demands the spirit has made, things known to have angered it, and details about both its former life and what it understands about its current existence inhabiting a doll all make for a pretty compelling read, especially alongside a disconcerting glassy stare complete with disturbing cracks.

Certain types of dolls are more popular than others, such as antique models, Wanda the Walking Doll, and Raggedy Ann. (The latter was the type of allegedly demonically possessed doll the “real” Annabelle—made famous by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren—was).

Given how scary even non-haunted dolls can be, the idea of specifically seeking out and paying $150 for a potentially possessed toy can seem odd. But according to Kathryn Blowers-McNamara—who runs FugitiveKatCreations, which sells vintage and upcycled items but specializes in antique and haunted dolls—people seek them out for various reasons. Some buyers are looking for the fun of ghost-hunting, while others have more emotional motivations.

“I get a lot of customers who have lost someone and are trying to figure out how to communicate with them,” she tells Mental Floss in an email. “I get a lot of mothers who have lost a child.”

Some dolls just want to be friends ’til the end.LUCOP/ISTOCK VIA GETTY IMAGES

Declaring an item haunted is not as simple as just whacking the listing up and waiting for a buyer. “Evaluations are a long process,” Blowers-McNamara says. “It takes months sometimes, with a group of us all comparing notes. We start with the vibe, the energy, our gut feeling. If we sense something there, we pull out the tools.” Said tools include electromagnetic frequency readers, dowsing rods, and a pendulum. The pendulum is often used to try to communicate with spirits. The user holds it out and asks questions, then interprets changes in how it swings as answers.

The doll is then placed in a soundproof box, where recordings are made and scoured for electric voice phenomena, or EVP. These are sounds found on recordings with no explanation behind them. To look for them, people often make recordings of extended periods of what should be silence. They then filter the recording’s sounds, words, or fragments of speech.

“After about a week of EVP recordings, we all spend time with the doll, sometimes up to a month each,” she says. “We use meditational telepathy, ESP, lucid dreaming techniques—every method we have as individuals to try to reach the spirit. And, finally, we use a Ouija.”

Blowers-McNamara only sells a doll as haunted if the notes she and her group make all line up with any information they get from the Ouija—otherwise it’s just sold as a vintage doll with “possibly haunted” included in the description.

Giant Beasts attack Putin and Taliban

Russian president Vladimir Putin had a close call with a grizzly bear in north-central Siberia two days ago.  Putin was swimming in an ice cold river when a giant 800 pound grizzly ran out of the tree line straight for the outdoor enthusiast Putin. Putin had to swim for his life just to keep ahead of the bone crushing jaws and flesh piercing claws of the mad bear. Just as the crazed grizzly was going to pounce on Vlad, the president’s security detail opened up with rocket propelled grenades and AK-47 machine guns, bringing the berserk grizzly down with a massive fusillade of firepower.

According to reliable sources, Vlad was mentally shaken after the incident. Prez Putin feels he has a metaphysical rapport with wild creatures. And this incident just didn’t jive with that perception. The Moscow Sun-Times is reporting that Vladimir is considering hunting the giant grizzlies in the near future.

A thousand miles to the west in Afghanistan, another bizarre attack occurred.  In the towering Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan, what can only be described as a huge Yeti type creature ambushed a platoon of Taliban fighters.  The anti-government Taliban had stopped in a mountain pass for a goat barbeque. All seemed well, the bearded Jihadists were mingling after the feast, discussing the after-life martyr paradise where they would be treated to free wine and unlimited virgin girls.  When up from behind the group a fifteen foot brown Yeti stealthily snuck up and sent the Taliban mountain men to that very paradise they were lauding.

Just prior to the attack the Taliban had set up a camera for a group selfie

U.S. Special Forces soldiers came across the scene while on patrol and discovered the camera among the carnage. The Jihadists had been ripped to shreds the American commander reported.  A Delta operator with the American patrol was later quoted as saying, “first we have to fight these suicidal Taliban fanatics, now we have a giant Sasquatch thingamajig lurking out there somewhere, what the f#@k is next in this crazy place?”

This was reported 2 months ago. Since then all U.S. forces have evacuated Afghanistan.

Bigfoot Filmed Crossing River in Michigan?

An intriguing piece of footage from Michigan shows a rather sizeable creature in the process of crossing a river and some suspect that the strange beast could be Bigfoot. A group known as the Rocky Mountain Sasquatch Organization received the wild report earlier this month from an individual named Eddie, who claimed that their cousin spotted the strange scene while “kayaking on the Cass River.” The man initially provided them with a remarkable photo that appears to capture a bipedal creature crossing the river while seemingly holding something in its arms. Fortunately, Eddie subsequently shared a brief video of the eerie encounter which provides a somewhat better glimpse of the oddity.

Although admittedly difficult to decipher, as all potential Sasquatch photos seem to be, some have theorized that the witness captured footage of an adult Bigfoot holding either a juvenile version of the creature or perhaps a deer as it makes it way across the Cass River. As one might imagine, more skeptical observers have argued that the ‘Sasquatch’ is merely a hunter or perhaps the whole scene is a clever hoax. Should that latter scenario be the case, one would almost have to salute the creators of the faked material, since it would have required someone don a Sasquatch costume and venture out into the river.

Everybody’d better be on guard
When the flying saucers land

Watch the skies above the horizon
For the spies who have no flies on
When they appear through the stratosphere
Better lock yourself inside

Flying saucer attack
I’m never coming back
Oh, oh, oh, until it’s over

Laser beams and gamma projectors
There’ll be nothing on Earth to protect us
When they arrive out of the sky
They’ll be frying us alive

Call out the Army and the United Nations
Alert the police and Air Force stations
Tell everybody to run and hide
Because the end is near at hand

Sasquatch Provincial Park

Sasquatch Provincial Park is a provincial park in Kent, British Columbia, Canada.

The park was established 1968, in its present condition. It actually began in 1959 as a 20 hectare inland fjord called Green Point Park, which was expanded into a picnicking area in 1960. Eight years later the park was expanded greatly and renamed. It was named after Sasquatch (a Halkomelem Salish word), the cryptid said to be endemic to the area.

The park is 1217 hectares in size. It is characterized by a series of pocket lakes, a unique second-growth and birch forest, and scenic mountain ridges.

The park is located in the District of Kent, 6 kilometres north of Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia.

Conservation
Wildlife: tailed frogs, beavers, mountain goats, bears, deer, and Sasquatch
Fish: sturgeon, smelt, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, brook char, salmon, catfish, and stickleback
Birds: bald eagles, woodpeckers, warblers, and vireos
Insect: black petaltail dragonfly

Sasquatch sightings go back as far as the 1800s when prospectors and miners from the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon told stories of wild ape-men. In British Columbia, over 200 Sasquatch sightings have been reported in the area of Harrison Hot Springs, Pitt Lake, Whistler and Squamish, Hope, Mission, and on Vancouver Island. People have also reported hearing the Sasquatch making high-pitched screams and howling at night across British Columbia.

The last sighting on record was in 2014; Global News reported that a Sasquatch-like creature was seen trudging through snow in a remote area near Whistler.
