Bull Riding

Bull riding is a rodeo sport that involves a rider getting on a bucking bull and attempting to stay mounted while the animal tries to buck off the rider.

In the American tradition, the rider must stay on top of the bucking bull while holding onto the bull rope with one hand for eight seconds and not touching the bull or them self with their free hand. A bull rope is a fiber rope wrapped around the chest of the bull directly behind the bull’s front legs, which the rider grips while riding. If the rider does this, it is a qualified ride. If the rider is bucked off before eight seconds, it is a no score. In most bull riding circuits, four judges mark scores for the rider and the bull. Two judges score the rider based on their ability up to 25 points each for up to a total of 50 points. The other two judges score the bull on his bucking performance for up to 25 points each for a total of up to 50 points. Thus, the ride is scored up to 100 points. Most professional riders score between the mid-70s and high 80s. American bull riding has been called “the most dangerous eight seconds in sports.”

Hard Headed Woman

Well a hard headed woman a soft hearted man
Been the cause of trouble ever since the world began
Oh yeah ever since the world began ah oh oh oh oh
A hard headed woman is a thorn in the side of man

Now Adam said to Eve listen here to me
Don’t you let me catch you messin’ round that apple tree
Oh yeah ever since the world began…

Now Samson told Delilah loud and clear
Keep your cotton pickin’ fingers out of my curly hair
Oh yeah ever since the world began…

Well I heard about a king who’s doing swell
Till he started playin’ with that evil Jezabel
Oh yeah ever since the world began…

Crystal City Grain Elevator Fire

A devastating fire tore through Crystal City, Manitoba on Monday evening, reducing a grain elevator to ash and severely damaging a hardware store.

A 31-year-old man is recovering in hospital after sustaining burns. He was airlifted to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and is in stable condition, a STARS helicopter service spokesperson said. Police say the man was working at the elevator at the time of the blaze.

An RCMP spokesperson said officers from the Crystal City detachment responded to the fire at around 6 p.m., after a caller reported reported hearing an explosion and seeing fire coming from the top of the elevator.

Shark Breach at Bora Bora

The super luxurious resort on the South Pacific island of Bora Bora is renown for tranquil beaches and unmatched beauty.  But something sinister seems to have occurred a few hours ago according to sketchy reports coming in via twitter.

An anomalous high tide allowed ocean fish that usually can’t get into the island’s lagoon to swim into the usually safe swimming area for the well heeled tourists. A weeks stay for two costs $11,000 American.

Regular action at Bora Bora

Due to this rogue high tide phenomenon, the dreaded and deadly Great White Shark went hunting in the lagoon.

Preliminary reports are that there may have been casualties. If the twitter photos just received below are any indication, there had to be casualties.

The above is a fake news story that I couldn’t resist including in the blog after watching a Sharknado Movie Marathon. Believe it or not I just watched six Sharknado movies in a row. I am currently a Sharkmaniac!
