SOME BEAUTIES AND SOME BEASTS: CHEEKY VINTAGE PHOTOS OF GLAMOROUS GIRLS AND GORILLAS

Last year I did a post that featured images of famous movie monsters carrying around pretty girls from notable films and lesser known B-movies like 1958’s Monster of the Campus that stars some sort of weird gorilla/monster/man hybrid. Anyway, since I’m always creeping around in the past for interesting things to entertain you with as well as to help provide a short distraction from the Trump shenanigans and other shitty news of the last few days, I revisited the topic, adjusting my search criteria to uncover images of charismatic apes cavorting around with hot chicks. And as you may already be aware, this strangely sexy mashup was a pretty popular trend back in the day, and burlesque performances would often feature an amorous gorilla on the prowl for poon. There were/are also a large number of films that fall into the generally campy “Beauty and the Beast” category. And then there are the many iterations of King Kong that continue to captivate filmgoers to this day. So let’s get to it, shall we?

I’ve posted several images of guys in gorilla suits and their female companions, or perhaps captives at times, below. And I have to tell you that I quite literally had to forcibly cut myself off from searching for them because the more I looked the more I found. There is even a website called Hollywood Gorilla Men that pays homage to the actors who wore the hulking ape suits throughout the years. It includes photos from films, print media and so much more that it makes one’s head spin. That said, you can be sure that this is the greatest, very best, most comprehensive post to showcase images of scantily clad chicks and beastly gorillas out there, including images of Wonder Woman Lynda Carter and Prince’s sexy muse Vanity (pictured at the top of this post) hanging out with their gorilla pals. Some are sort of NSFW.

The beak, bill, or rostrum is an external anatomical structure of birds that is used for eating and for grooming, manipulating objects, killing prey, fighting, probing for food, courtship and feeding young.

Although beaks vary significantly in size, shape, color and texture, they share a similar underlying structure. Two bony projections—the upper and lower mandibles—are covered with a thin keratinized layer of epidermis known as the rhamphotheca. In most species, two holes known as nares lead to the respiratory system.

Under political fire at home, U.S. President Donald Trump sealed a $110 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia on Saturday on his maiden foreign trip as he struggled to shift attention from the aftermath of his firing of the director of the FBI.

The arms deal, plus other investments that U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said could total up to $350 billion, was the central achievement of Trump’s first day in Riyadh, first stop on a nine-day journey through the Middle East and Europe.

Speaking to journalists after a ceremony to exchange agreements, Trump said it was a “tremendous day” and spoke of “hundreds of billions of dollars of investments into the United States and jobs, jobs, jobs. So I would like to thank all of the people of Saudi Arabia.”

King Salman gave Trump a remarkably warm greeting, meeting him at the steps of Air Force One on arrival, shaking the hand of Trump’s wife, Melania, riding with Trump in his limousine and spending most of the day with him.

Donald even participated in a 200 meter camel sprint. He came in 4th. In a post race interview Trump said the race was rigged. He said he was given a lame, terrible and smelly camel.

Hare-Force One: Boarding the Playboy plane

From ferrying a prized ape to a widowed mate, to rescuing refugees from Vietnam in Operation Babylift, Big Bunny – or Hare-Force One as it was otherwise known – served Hugh Hefner and the Playboy family for five years. No doubt it had its fair share of ‘mile-high’ flying exploits…

At its peak, over a quarter of all male American college-goers picked up Playboy magazine every single month. And what does the patriarch of this booming empire, idolised and hated in equal measures by both men and women the world over, do to cement his status as the kingpin of the media world? He buys a private plane; and we’re not talking about a Cessna 172. Nope – in the birth of the hugely exciting jet age, Hugh Hefner bought an airliner for use at his (and several significant others’) convenience.

In February 1970, Hugh Hefner took his maiden flight aboard the Playboy plane – a brand-new McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32, bought for an alleged USD 9m (a simply colossal sum at the time). This particular DC-9, though, was worlds away from its commercial brethren. In typical Playboy fashion, it was packed to the rafters with flamboyance and excess. Painted jet-black with Playboy rabbits adorning the tail fin, it was crammed with lavish décor and then-state-of-the-art technology. Those wanting to rest and relax could do so in the 12 folding sleeper chairs, while those in the mood could choose from several recreational activities – dancing in the discotheque or catching a film in the onboard cinema, for example.

Mere mortals (playmates and celebrities) entered the jet through the front staircase, while Hugh’s personal boudoir – complete with Tasmanian opossum-fur-covered elliptical waterbed – was entered via a private folding staircase at the rear of the fuselage. There’s no doubt that here is where the proverbial magic happened. It wasn’t all fun and games aboard Big Bunny, though, and with air travel comes serious risk and responsibility, hence Hugh took the liberty of officially training several playmates as air-stewardesses; though the rabbit ears and bushy tails were dispensed with, in favour of knee-high boots and white aviator scarves.

Aside from shuttling Hefner and world-famous celebrities (Elvis, and Sonny and Cher, to name but three) from city to city, Big Bunny took some unusual excursions in the name of publicity. She not only rescued Vietnamese babies following the fall of Saigon, but also ferried a gorilla named Baltimore Jack across America to meet a recently widowed mate. Jack reportedly took a liking to Hefner’s waterbed; make of that what you will. But all good things must come to an end and, in 1975, Big Bunny was gutted and sold to a Venezuelan airline. Of the thousands of passengers who subsequently flew on her, we wonder how many knew of the earlier goings-on aboard Hare-Force One.

You think your job sucks

These are pictures of ship breaking in Chittagong, Bangladesh.   These old ships are pulled ashore and then the work begins.  Unskilled laborers use mainly setaline torches to break down the ships.  The steel is then pulled or carried to trucks further inland.

The labourers can make up to US $1.50 a day.  No safety equipment or standards.  The heat can be excruciating.  Tough days work.

Western countries used to break down their own ships.  But dismantling a steel ship is costly with high union wages in European countries.  So the ship owners sell the ships to ship breaking firms in India, Bangladesh and China.

James Norman “Jim” Mattis (born September 8, 1950) is the 26th and current United States Secretary of Defense, serving in the Trump Administration. Mattis is a retired United States Marine Corps general who previously served as the 11th Commander of United States Central Command and was responsible for American military operations in the Middle East, Northeast Africa, and Central Asia, from August 11, 2010, to March 22, 2013.
On January 20, 2017, Mattis was confirmed as Secretary of Defense 98–1 by the United States Senate on a waiver, as he had only been three years out of active duty despite US federal law requiring a seven-year cooling off period for retired military personnel to be appointed Secretary of Defense. He was the first member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet to be confirmed.

Mr. Mattis has bags under the eyes. It happens to the best of us. 100+ days into his job and the stress seems to be exacerbating the bags issue.

Very Tall Hollywood Actors from the past and present

Some of these silver screen galoots you may recognize, others maybe not. But these guys were very noticeable.

William Engesser (February 21, 1939 – June 20, 2002) was an American film actor, 7’3″ tall. His roles include Jerry Reed’s bodyguard in Gator (1976), Richard/”Bigfoot” in The Secrets of Isis (1975), Krakow the Werewolf in the campy House on Bare Mountain (1962), and a bit part as a man in a gym in The Nutty Professor (1963).

In Gator he had to use the sunroof to fit in the car.

Theodore Crawford “Ted” Cassidy (July 31, 1932 – January 16, 1979) was an American actor who performed in television and films. At 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m) in height, he tended to play unusual characters in offbeat or science-fiction series such as Star Trek and I Dream of Jeannie.  He is perhaps best known for the role of Lurch, the butler on the 1960s television series The Addams Family. He is also known for performing the opening narration of the CBS series The Incredible Hulk, as well as the voice of the Hulk (1977–79).

Lock Martin (October 12, 1916 – January 19, 1959) was the stage name of American actor Joseph Lockard Martin, Jr. He is best remembered for playing the robot Gort in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951). He stood 7’7″ tall.

Carel Struycken ; (born July 30, 1948) is a Dutch film, television, and stage actor. He is best known for playing the Giant in Twin Peaks, Mr. Homn in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Lurch in the films The Addams Family, Addams Family Values and Addams Family Reunion. He is an exceptionally tall man at 2.13 metres (7 feet) and thus is often called upon to play character or comedic roles in which height plays a major part.

Dalip Singh Rana (born 27 August 1972), better known by his ring name The Great Khali, is a professional wrestler, actor, and powerlifter. He is currently working for WWE.

Before embarking on his professional wrestling career, he was a police officer in the Punjab state police. He has appeared in four Hollywood films, two Bollywood films, and has guest-starred on television shows. He has appeared in the films ‘The Longest Yard’ and ‘Get Smart’. He is 7’1″ tall.

Richard Dawson Kiel (born 1939) is an American actor known for his role of Voltaire to Dr. Miguelito Loveless in first season episodes of The Wild, Wild West (1965-1966). Kiel also played the role of the steel-toothed Jaws in the James Bond movies The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and Moonraker (1979) as well as the video game Everything or Nothing (he also has cameos in many other James Bond videogames). He is also well known as Mr. Larson in the 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore.He is 7’1.5″ tall.

There are all kinds of ‘out of this world’ experiences happening near people all the time. It just takes a look around to see them. But many people just can’t stop staring into the mind engrossing twinkling little screen. They don’t know what they are missing.
