The Stockholm subway system is said to be the longest art exhibition in the world – 110 kilometers in length. Traveling by subway is like traveling through an exciting story that extends from the artistic pioneers of the 1950s to the art experiments of today. Over 90 of the 100 subway stations in Stockholm have been decorated with sculptures, mosaics, paintings, installations, engravings and reliefs by over 150 artists. It’s a part of a long tradition of public art for public transport.

The Kungsträdgården subway station looks like an archaeological excavation, with the remains of the old Stockholm Makalös palace. At Östermalmstorg the artist Siri Derkert highlights women’s rights and peace and environmental issues. The roof of one Stockholm station is red-lit, making it appear to be covered in billowing flames, and another boasts ancient-looking statues carved out of the tunnel walls.
Another has also taken a classical theme, with foliage entwined around pillars; while others are more modern, with rainbows painted over the rough-hewn rock surface and multi-coloured arrows pointing passengers in the right direction.
Their website states: ‘The art makes the stations perceived as more beautiful, safer and it helps to make the trip into something more than just a transport between two places.

Bull riding is a rodeo sport that involves a rider getting on a bucking bull and attempting to stay mounted while the animal tries to buck off the rider.
In the American tradition, the rider must stay on top of the bucking bull while holding onto the bull rope with one hand for eight seconds and not touching the bull or them self with their free hand. A bull rope is a fiber rope wrapped around the chest of the bull directly behind the bull’s front legs, which the rider grips while riding. If the rider does this, it is a qualified ride. If the rider is bucked off before eight seconds, it is a no score. In most bull riding circuits, four judges mark scores for the rider and the bull. Two judges score the rider based on their ability up to 25 points each for up to a total of 50 points. The other two judges score the bull on his bucking performance for up to 25 points each for a total of up to 50 points. Thus, the ride is scored up to 100 points. Most professional riders score between the mid-70s and high 80s. American bull riding has been called “the most dangerous eight seconds in sports.”

Well a hard headed woman a soft hearted man
Been the cause of trouble ever since the world began
Oh yeah ever since the world began ah oh oh oh oh
A hard headed woman is a thorn in the side of man
Now Adam said to Eve listen here to me
Don’t you let me catch you messin’ round that apple tree
Oh yeah ever since the world began…
Now Samson told Delilah loud and clear
Keep your cotton pickin’ fingers out of my curly hair
Oh yeah ever since the world began…
Well I heard about a king who’s doing swell
Till he started playin’ with that evil Jezabel
Oh yeah ever since the world began…
A devastating fire tore through Crystal City, Manitoba on Monday evening, reducing a grain elevator to ash and severely damaging a hardware store.
A 31-year-old man is recovering in hospital after sustaining burns. He was airlifted to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and is in stable condition, a STARS helicopter service spokesperson said. Police say the man was working at the elevator at the time of the blaze.
An RCMP spokesperson said officers from the Crystal City detachment responded to the fire at around 6 p.m., after a caller reported reported hearing an explosion and seeing fire coming from the top of the elevator.

The fire spread to the Cudmore Bros. Hardware building as well, which is around two blocks away from where the elevator was ablaze.
